Osfoora for Twitter App Reviews

cant use

cant use this last version :( the screen is freezed. tried to delete and reinstall. same thing occured. never had problems with the earlier versions. anyone having the same?

Acessibility and VoiceOver

Dont have any accessibility with VoiceOver. Pleas verify this problem.

Two (and a half) things

First of all: I like the design. Its beautiful, very responsive and fast. Tweetmarker support works great! BUT: 1) Please add an option to compose a new DM. 2) Please add a function to directly go to a user profile (cant be so hard, can it?). 2 1/2) Why dont you use the standard red dock icon badges? At this point its a more beautiful Twitteriffic (without the option to compose a DM). But keep it going, Said, youre doing a great work. Twitteriffic needed a long long time to get to this point. Fix the first to points and your getting five stars from me :)

So far one of the best twitter clients

with instapaper support! And a lot better than the original twitter client. and to all the other reviewers: This ist how to write a dm Make an new tweet an write: DM @twitternick text thats it. Or otherwise go to that user profile and klick at that geat.

Great alternative!

I really like the app. Slick interface, powerful features (TweetMarker!) and fast. Theres just one thing and Id give 5 stars: Why cant I disable the sidebar? It occupies too much space for me. My setup is to always show my Twitter client an have other windows like Safari open next to it. On a 13" MacBook Air this is kinda hard to achieve with Osfoora. Also the app only lets you resize the width to a minimum amount. But all in all really great work!

love it! but...

please add "pull to refresh", easier option to start a new DM conversation and the option to use a dark design like in the iOS app. Really good work so far! :)

Awesome

It already deserves 5 stars, even though it has still potential to grow in terms of features!

Good looking, awful working

I gave Osfoora two chances for replacing the official Twitter App for Mac (Tweetie) on my Mac, first time with v1.1, now the second chance with v1.2. It failed again. Osfooras main problem is that it combines features and ideas from "Twitter for Mac" and "Twitterrific" but misses their respective important implications. On top of that I simply too often encounter buggy behavior in the app. Another mature issue like another user wrote here, sometimes a tweet or reply does not appear. I only realized that because I had TweeDeck running in addition. Osfoora is missing fine-tuning and quality assurance. I dont need a Growl notification for tweets I posted myself. The developer is absolutely no shortcuts friend. Standard tasks like opening the app window when closed to the dock, quick access to another account and several others are still not implemented. Oh and dont assume you could search your timeline for a phrase or something. Its ridiculous.

Well… OK, but not good

Osfoora would be a nice twitter client, but therefor you have to add two things: * twitter Streaming-API - I would like to get the tweets live AND want to see my own tweets instantly when Ive send them. * Rules - you should add the option to add rules for the shown timeline (for example things like "dont show mentions/retweets of user XYZ", "Notify me if there are tweets with the Tag #XYZ", "Colorize tweets with the Tag #ZZZ (from User YYY)" etc, etc.

Best Twitter client on the Mac (Updated)

I tried most of the other clients in the store, but Osfoora is currently the best. You can do almost all Twitter-related tasks without leaving the app. Inline images, streaming support, Instapaper support, mute function and TweetMarkers are great features, its a good companion app to TweetBot on iOS. Here are two ideas to make this app even better: - it should be possible to drag an image to the compose window in addition to the file picker - a mute function for keywords and Twitter clients would be a great addition

Please Give us back the Notification throught Growl!!

Since the new update the notification of new tweets is shown by the Notification Center (OSX Feature)…. That is awful…. The Growl option was the best. Give us at least the possibility to choose if we want to use Growl or Notification Center… This feature makes the program for me unusuable … :( The other new changes in the new version are cool… I use Osfoora till the programm go on MAS and i was super happy…. till today… :(

Great update

This is a great update. UI now looks much more consistent and easy on the eyes. All features I need are there, and the app overall behaves much more snappier than TweetBot does. Osfoora is well worth its price. Keep up the good work!

does not work

seems to be broken

The Most Beaultiful Twitter app for the Mac

Few thing I suggest authors to implement: — ⌘U - Go To User option — DragnDrop Picture functionality in the tweet composing view — Live Twitter Stream Support Also, please, fix few bugs with multiple mentions. E.g. When Im replying to a tweet containing @few @separate @usernames, Osfoora will bring up temple with only first @username, missing others.

Good start

UI/graphic/animation-wise, its far behind the official Twitter app and sits akwardly within Mac OS. However, theres lot of functionality thats super interesting — like tweeting iTunes! Finally! So, again, a good start — looking forward to updates!

One thing missing

Awesome interface. Really well done. Its intuitive and has pretty much all the features youd expect a Twitter client to have. The only thing missing in my opinion is the ability to search for words within your Timeline. Its a feature I use A LOT in the official Twitter app and its the only keeping me from deleting all other Twitter clients.

Getting there...

This app does a lot of great things and Im really looking forward to where it goes from here. Its relatively new so I dont want to dump on it too hard. My biggest issue is that I bought it for the tweetmarker support. I use tweetbot on my iOS devices and the tweetmarker service keeps them all in sync. Unfortunately Osfoora seems to struggle with this service at the moment and it doesnt work on my end. It worked on Twitterific, but I dont really enjoy using that app, so I jumped when I saw this one. I will gladly change my review once tweetmarker is ironed out. Another issue is gap detection… it doesnt seem to handle the gaps as well as other apps out there. The design is tight and pleasing, and many things do as youd expect. I would like to see an easier way to view replies to a tweet, so if somebody asks a question 15 minutes ago I can easily see the replies so I know if my input would be useful or not. Overall I think this app will be great, but right now its a little rough around the edges.

A good start, hopefully it will get even better. (Updated)

Osfoora makes a pretty good first effort. The general functionality is solid - good conversation view, inline picture support (with more supported sites than the Twitter Mac app). It also adds TweetMarker support (very handy if you use iOS or other Twitter apps to sync timeline positions). The UI could use some refinement - retweeting has to be accessed from the right-click menu, no search within your timeline or for users, and the icon is a bit of an eyesore. That said, right now it offers a couple good improvements over the official Twitter app, and with some work I hope it will get even better. Update: with version 1.1 theres now a cmd-U hotkey to jump to a users page. Still areas for improvement, but there seems to be steady development on the app, so Im very happy with my purchase.

Great App - Needs Something More

This app is beautiful. I have Osfoora on my iPhone and my iPad, so I made the natural progression to have it on my Mac as well. However, I am disappointed by the lack of Twitlonger Support. This is a dealbreaker for me. I hope that support is added soon, or I may have to download something else for my Mac, which is a shame as this app is so beautiful.

Buggy since last update

Since the last update I consistently cannot access my DMs and it keeps dropping my other accounts no matter how many times I add them (I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times now to no avail). I have tweeted these problems at @osfooramac and received no response. Im starting to look around for other desktop clients and find myself using the twitter web interface half the time – shouldnt a desktop client be so perfect/reliable that it makes a user ignore the generic web interface? At the moment I would ditch this client in a second if Tweetbot desktop came out.
